ABOUT THE ARTWORK
They're dunlins, Calidris alpina: abundant in winter on the coast near me. It was a sort of accidental collage: I was originally just using cut-outs to work out how to place the birds. But then I liked the result, and went with it. I will probably continue to explore this approach: newsprint is a fabulous thing, full of serendipitous pattern and random words.
