107 SANTA MARIA DEI MIRACOLI - VENICE Painting

Walking under an old porch on the canal I lifted my head and saw a pale bright marble volume well proportioned that raptured me. I decided I had to drow a portrait of it. The next day I woke up at 6:00, I took the vaporetto from Murano and sat on the bridge near Santa Maria dei Miracoli with the paper on my knees and the pencil in my hand. It was so lovely to sit while Venice was awakening. The sun illuminated the façade while was turning and allowed some shadows to underline some delicate details. I hope you can feel the sensation of softness and delicacy that I felt sitting and drawing this old church, which is the only one in Venice to be completely detached from other buildings ... Looking at his magic I understood why its name contained The word "Miracle".
