Elena Trissino dal Vello D’Oro is a native of the city of Milano, Italy; where over the years, she has worked mainly in the field of photography. After having travelled extensively to different countries around the world, .where she conducted musical as well as visual research. She has founded together with Gabin Dabirè, a “Center of divulgation of African culture” and they have since successfully produced a variety of shows with the collaboration of the city and numerous local Institutions. Her artistic curriculum includes performance art pieces as well as painting, sculpture and more recently, functional art such as candles and other home furnishings. Her choice of materials comes directly from nature such as earth, sand, marble or other mineral powders, wood, stone, iron and various metals for sculptures. She works with the elements and time, not only in terms of hours, months or years, but also considering the variations during the year. Only the winter with it’s ice-cold breath can leave such a subtly light and delicate mark, and only summer can crack the earth with power and dehydrated, and split it. Than when the water arrives , it flows and drags, corrodes, carries away and erodes leavings transparent trails, wich allow us a fleeting glimps of new pictures and stories. For the wind she has created several sculptures that interact with it they do sing. She is currently living and working in Tuscany. METAMORPHSIS I work on transformation. A long alchemic process which begins from inside and is revealed, though expression and action. If we see death as the end it is something obscene, evil-smelling and undesirable, but if we consider it as a passage from one place to another, and from one dimension to another, it takes on a different guise, a different value. Search Find Gather Touch Manipulate Secure Purify Reorganize Transform….Trasf….Meta morpho sis… Finality is born of the very process of the action following another. Art lies in preparation. Earth and sand, indispensable and vital elements. Sand – erosion – the transformation of time. TESTIMONIALS The human being has many needs. One of these is the need to experiment. Hence, I am draw to the use of natural materials like earth, sand and stone. Then come the growing need for freedom of expression, without following any preordained schema.
