"'A Woman Promiscuous'" Painting

Liberated from any artisitic tuitional constraints, the painting virus completely consumes me and I don't ever wish to recover. A constant doer and a worrier I find respite in the canvas. Pouring my own personal energy, angst and enthusiasm into every painting I create, my emotions transfer, restoring calm. The subject of my body of work has been clearly delineated from the start and is fundamentally elemental. Human beings and sometimes animals being my chosen element; providing the starting point both emotionally and artisically for my paintings. Being extremely sensitive to my fellow humans I am fascinated by how different we all are in body and soul. Anthropology fires and lures my imagination and I find the human face most especially addictive. After experimenting with various media, I now use a combination of oils, acrylics and ink. Working on an extravagant scale in a very spontaneous, instinctive and expressionist style, I never use live models and work solely from my imagination which is occasionally triggered by historical reference, allowing me to create paintings of slightly surreal, emotionally charged characters. I actively encourage the colours to manifest, blend, blur and distort when I paint, enabling my subjects to emerge and evolve from the canvas. Each one individual, visceral and unintentional.
