I,Nikolay Kuckov, hereby state that the information in this Notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that I authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of the copyright painter Galina Valui. Below she wroter about herself: I am lucky in my life. I became a geologist and my profession has not become less atractive for me. In addition to the scien-tific findinds, it gives happiness of contact with untapped nature and interesting enthusiastic people. I study the petrology of granites. Petrology is a science of rock origin. For 25 summer expedition seasons my colleagues and I covered hundreds kilometers along the coast of the Sea of Japan from Oaaney to Pos’et by motor boats and sculls, motor-cars and foot on rocks, beaches, and impassable places. In the routes, thousands rock samples were taken, hundreds rock outcrops were photographed and sketched – for science, and for heart – hundreds slides and water-colour sketches to share with friends the joy of discovery of the inimitably beautiful places. Sea coastal cliffs keep the unique geological information and one can read it only through tedious scientific investigations. The results of such work I have published in the monography and more than 50 articles in scientific journals. I have spent my school years on the Volga bank in dear to my heat Uglich, among ancient churches and cloisters, and my time as a student walked in the most beautiful city on the Neva River among the symphonies of architectural ensembles by great Trezini and Quarengi, Rossi and Rastrelli, Zakharov and Voronikhin. On graduating from the Geological faculty of Sankt- Peterburg (then Leningrad) University, covered 10 000 km over the whole country in wedding journey, my husband, graduate of the Historical faculty and I found ourselves in Vladivostok and were won by bright colour of the Far East and by sea. I have a splendid family and excellent friends and colleagues who help me to fight with the life guag and do not let my cre-ative optimism run low. I live and work on the sea shore and I am not tired to admire it and picture its continuosly changing colours and tints.
