1953 born in Vienna, AustriaSince 1986 a member of the Secession, Vienna,Since 1999 teaching painting and new media at the University of applied arts, Vienna. She was granted various awards and took part in international symposions, stayed and worked in places such as Berlin, Paris, New York, Ahrenshoop and St.Petersburg, took part in many group exhibitions and personal shows, in Austria as well as abroad.Lotte Seyerl finds the motives of her paintings in her everyday surroundings ( a trip to Paris, spending late hours in clubs,) and transforms them following her painting and concept. Her view on things is influenced by dealing with new medias, it is scanning rapidly, cutting moments out of the course of events.This choice becomes a mise en scene, is telling stories, allowing either suspicion or boredom. Privacy becomes public, the public private.It is ruthlessly tactless.Painting exists as a refuge from technical medias, though it does not deny their presence sometimes, it expands a moment to eternity and makes it visible.
