I'm so pleased this painting was chosen as a finalist by Ken Howard OBE RA, a painter whose work continually inspires me. AFTERNOON RICHMOND was selected as one of the best 20 entries out of 150 in the "Glorious Richmond" painting competition juried by British painter Ken Howard OBE RA and shown at the Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club Gala Evening and Art Exhibition in May 2018. I was inspired by the lively Richmond riverside scene; boats, trees, people, waterfowl, architecture and the Thames. This area of London is irresistible to paint! The warm sunlit buildings contrasting with the cool calming grey blue of water reflections, and punchy colours of the boats.
