ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A young woman looks at us with great serenity. The red flower in her hair, her evening dress, her light tan make you think of a Latin dancer. Sensual, she is surrounded by three very colorful birds. Are these pretenders? A first bird, very small, is perched on his shoulder. His proud air gives an amusing impression of ridicule, like a vain little male who would think he had conquered the beauty without being aware of his insignificance in his eyes ... Another bird flying above her, not very tall either, is he trying to get her attention? Finally, does the quetzal, king of exotic birds, rely on its beauty alone to seduce it? The orange background, which could be a facade of a Cuban house or of the Caminito de Buenos Aires, heightens our feeling of well-being when contemplating the canvas.
