Amethyst Painting

This work is my impression of amethyst stone dreaming on my windowsill. The work has strong texture with all colours built in the layers of pigmented Italian decorative plaster. Materials: Italian wall plaster and acrylic paint accents on a solid wood board. The surface is covered with a beeswax solution for extra protection, making it suitable for high-traffic and humidity spaces. All my artworks are hand-made with an authentic Italian wall plaster that is applied with an 8-inch trowel in many thin layers up to the tiniest details, a technique of mine that produces unique colour and texture effects and patterns that are not possible to achieve with other painting mediums. Applied straight on a wall, Italian plasters are traditionally used for interior decoration. It is a very durable and moist-resistant material that does not lose colour with time. Each artwork is highly textured, tactile and safe to touch.
