Amy Winehouse, born on September 14, 1983 in London and died on July 23, 2011 in the same city, is a British singer, songwriter and guitarist known for her characteristic voice reminiscent of Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughan and Wanda Jackson. Generally speaking, her music is a mix of styles such as jazz, blues and soul. Amy Winehouse has also attracted media attention for her appearance, including her hairstyle, tattoos and eyeliner makeup, and has inspired many stylists. The singer has been experiencing problems with depression, drug addiction, alcoholism and bulimia, which have been widely reported in the tabloids since 2007.
