ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a pastel painting of still life. I'm influenced by Manet's still life paintings as well as John LaFarge's. This is a small painting. However, I'm seeking to push the limits of pastels by making a small painting look large. I'm seeking to find the elusive balance between color, composition, drawing, light, and a convincing sense of space in the painting.
