ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Arlington Court House - Autumn Rosie is currently working on a new series of art - A Year at Arlington Court, a stately home and lands in the care of the National Trust, its a wonderful, peaceful place to visit and absorb the changing seasons. Arlington Court is a neoclassical style country house built 1820–23, North East of Barnstaple, North Devon, England. It is a Grade II listed building. The house was commissioned by Colonel John Palmer Chichester (1769-1823) to the design of the North Devon architect Thomas Lee, replacing the earlier Georgian house of about 1790. Rosalie Chichester (d. 1949), donated the mansion to the National Trust together with 3,500 acres (14 km2) two years before her death in 1949. Today, the house, together with the Chichester family's collection of antique furniture and an eclectic collection of family memorabilia, is fully open to the public. A favourite place to visit - now shared in a series of paintings, drawings and prints.

Rosie is inspired by light and life, her work can be broadly split into two - the figure and the landscape, although fleeting encounters with a scene or scenario also generates work Rosie produces. Helicoidal pattern within composition connects a lot of her work -the spiraling form of the universe, DNA, shells, surf, clouds, can be found in most of her work. Representation of the human form is an ongoing preoccupation - gender, the association of gender roles, femininity, sirens, has generated a large body of work in different media - drawing, ink, watercolour, and print. Rosie's prolific - she has a large portfolio of work, a lot of it can be seen on her website
