Avan Painting

I am an artist who uses canvas to create life from my imagination, thus making it immortal. The ideas rise from my dreams, leak from my paint brush onto the canvas, forming a forever lasting piece of art. I define my art as “realism” and “magic realism”, using the traditional method “oil on canvas” in my artistic approach and the brush as a tool for layer application of the colors. In my paintings I often use contrast “light-shadow” to achieve more dramatics. In this contest, I get inspired from the art works of Caravaggio and Rembrandt. It was their work that attracted me and made me fall in love in this artistic style. The canvas is my book, the paint is my ink and I use them to write inspiring stories overloaded with emotions. With great passion, I am attracted to life and the human being itself. It is therefore important for me to paint real people that carry life inspiring messages, wisdom, experience, sadness, happiness, hope, representing life itself. Frequently, I introduce angels in my paintings, as a way to connect the earthly realism to the surreal and divine. I use acts to represent the beautiful site of life, the women as a divine creature from whom I get inspired. Through my acts, I express my freedom; the nakedness eliminates all the borders of my artistic spirit. It represents the vulnerability of the human soul, its fragileness captured in comfortable body. Portraits are my way of creating timeless memories of a human essence, captured in a moment and standing as an ageless mirror of the person’s soul to be inherited by future generations. Every painting of mine is important for me; it symbolizes a piece of the mosaic that is my soul. My art is my life; it is incorporated in my being, as any part of my body, expressed by every exhaled breath. Without my art I am mute to the world. Hence I need to demonstrate my art to the humanity as my form to articulate my essence.
