Inspired by the dome of the Pantheon in Rome I wanted to use its structure as a grid for a work displaying the view looking up to the oculus from floor-level. A kind of inside view from one of the earlier towers of chairs I made showing the outside of a similar structure. The work is delivered ready to hang.

Ever since I can remember I'm drawing although I had no examples whatsoever in my childhood. I grew up on a small farm near Venlo in the the south of the Netherlands. The urge to draw finally lead to the Academie voor Beeldende Vorming Tilburg where I graduated in 1990 in drawing and painting.From that time on I am working on a collection mostly dominated by chairs depicted in very different ways. Perspective and perception are crucial elements in this never ending quest. These works are drawn with pencil or painted with watercolor. Still driven by my urge to draw.
