This painting is created using the oil pastel technique, which stands out for its rich colors and unique texture. The style is reminiscent of Impressionism, characterized by loose, energetic strokes that focus on light and color rather than precise details. Elements like reflections on the water, soft transitions of shades, and textures are made with oil pastels, giving the artwork a sense of dynamism and vividness. In the foreground, a woman is depicted relaxing in the sun, against the backdrop of a calm sea and rocks. The soft lines of the body and warm hues convey an atmosphere of tranquility and serenity, typical of genre scenes of leisure by the water. The oil pastel technique allows for smooth blending of colors and textures, emphasizing the feeling of warmth and comfort. Technique highlights in this painting: Softened lines and voluminous forms: Oil pastel enables smooth transitions between colors, making the objects in the painting feel more lively and dimensional. Texture: The oil pastel gives the painting a slightly rough texture, adding depth and a sense of presence. Color accents: Bright and saturated colors, such as the orange swimsuit and pink mat, contrast with the more subdued tones of the sea and rocks, drawing attention to the central figure. This technique beautifully conveys the atmosphere of a summer day at the beach with a sense of lightness and calm. The size of the painting 13/18/0,3 Passepartout size 24/30/0,4

Ellen Frischbutter, Germany, Leipzig. Since childhood I loved to draw, drew well and watched with pleasure how my father drew, he was not a painter, but perfectly drew with pencil and oil paints. In life I chose the profession of a psychologist, but that choice has led me to creativity. Doing art therapy with clients, watching the whimsical flow of paint, I found myself wanting to paint everything from ethereal dreams, real objects to fantastical, imaginary subjects and dreams. I fell in love with painting, attended various painting courses and once I felt the freedom to move on canvas I like to paint in different techniques and on different subjects. My artist pseudonym is Frilen
