ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I love walking on the beach, looking for shells with the sea lapping at my ankles, the bright blue sky above, and the warm sun on my shoulders. It's a peaceful and contemplative activity as I pass other beachgoers who have staked their place in the sand. The sounds of children squealing with delight and of seagulls squawking as they wheel and dive looking for a snack complete the scene. I inhale the salty ocean-infused air....ahhhh summer!

I was born in Philadelphia in 1954 and raised with my four siblings in the western suburbs. Dad was a mathematician who taught at various colleges and universities, and was a pioneer in the beginning of the computer age in the early 60s. He and Mom met in a high school production of "The Student Prince" at North Catholic. Our home was filled with music with Dad playing the piano and Mom singing. I wanted to be an artist as far back as age 8 when I received an easel for my birthday. Drawing and painting were favorite activities.
