Encounter in Eternity In this oil diptych, I attempt to capture the moment of encounter between two souls, unbound by time and space. The black silhouettes of the figures, devoid of faces, stand before us as eternal witnesses. They belong neither to the past nor the future but exist in a timeless realm where every moment stretches into infinity. The Red Giant The intense red background, reminiscent of an approaching giant star, envelops both figures. This rich color symbolizes passion, strength, and inevitability. It surrounds them like a vortex of time, ready to consume everything in its path. We witness them teetering on the edge—between life and nonexistence. Intertwining Fates The figures are inclined, akin to weary travelers, yet their paths intersect. The male silhouette, crowned with a silver halo, represents rationality and the power of the mind. The female silhouette, adorned with a golden halo resembling a crown or a Russian kokoshnik, symbolizes intuition, tenderness, and inner harmony. Their bowed heads echo the saints depicted in icons. Angelic Wings Behind each figure, we glimpse something akin to angelic wings. Perhaps they are no longer fully human. Maybe they are liberated souls, free from earthly constraints, ready to ascend toward the stars. Or perhaps they are remnants of their existence, imprinted upon this timeless canvas.
