This is a winner work for which i was awarded the Pure Arts Prize in 2015 . It is Oils on stretched canvas and is a complete joy to look at .
My eyes taste colour like my tongue tastes spice: fresh, vast, limitless. Minimalist forms feeds my aesthetics and i blur the lines between painting and sculpture .
Lured by the belief in complete desensitising of the eye of the unnecessary chaos of details , my work graduates to leave a blissful positive experience .Swollen with the Indian sensibility of pure colour ,my paintings treat the colour itself as the subject .Its broken, blurred, repeated and stylised to suit the intense emotions .
My interest is in the fleeting moments of consciousness, ephemeral quality of light and one’s relationship to time .The search of the marvellous, of the abstract, delicate, vague, voluptuously wordless sensation of transcending ordinary living beckons me . I rely on meditations to question, stretch and bend time to make the unexpected paintings happen.

ArtSwati is a contemporary artist of Indian origin, based in London. She is the winner of the Pure Prize 2015. Her signature narrative of lush tones and tranquil meditative layers was developed during her professional education in Fine Arts at the Art Academy London. Her luminous works invites the viewers to pause and step towards a deeply conscious and subliminal experience. . Her tonal paintings are rooted in the aesthetics of minimalism and appear to be contemporary colourfield. Solid, luminous, deep-set colours are the visual equivalent of her spiritual sense. Swollen with the Indian sensibility of pure colour, that is broken, blurred and repeated, her works provoke a transcendental interpretation.
