The works from this collection reflect the author's unconditional love for nature, Russian nature in particular. It's not widely known, but Russian birch is considered a primordially Slavic tree and a symbol of the Russian forest. In the spring, in ancient times, people extracted birch sap and made necessary household items and clothes from birch bark. These paintings are not a symbol of patriotism, but rather a declaration of love to pure nature, transparent air of the forest, and the most unusual wood species. It is impossible to imagine how and why a birch trunk is so beautiful, graphic and laconic. This ingenious find inspires me endlessly. Someone will say that I am the author of one plot, but this, of course, is untrue. There are paintings with birch trees with a contrasting background, there are more restrained in a graphic manner, but with subtle exquisite blotches of color or gold leaf, all these works from that collection have a different mood, but all are very loved by me. For me, birches are an inexhaustible theme, to which I return again and again in my work, return to myself, return home.
