ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Village of Casares Spain is dear to my heart, and it lends itself to the travelogue-style watercolor/guache painting style and medium. The cubist-like village, with its repeating patterns and red-tiled roofs were endlessly fascinating and provided a plethora of material from which to work. The format of a long vertical painting also echos this village built on a hillside with a castle crowning it in Andalusia, a timeless and classical place.
