ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting was made on my return from my first visit to India. It is of a view across fields to a house in the beautiful village of Poombarai, in the Palani Hills. The painting has been simplified to draw on the heat and magnificent boldness of colour, found across India. The composition is reminiscent of Diebenkorn's paintings and investigation between absraction and figuration.
