Robert Nesta Marley aka Bob Marley, born February 6, 1945 in Nine Miles (Jamaica) and died May 11, 1981 in Miami (United States) of widespread cancer, is a Jamaican singer-songwriter and musician.
During his lifetime, he was a worldwide success and remains to this day the most famous reggae musician, while being considered as the one who brought Jamaican music and the Rastafarian movement to a worldwide audience. He has sold more than 200 million records worldwide.
Bob Marley began his musical career in 1962. In 1963, Robert Nesta Marley formed a vocal trio with Neville O'Reilly Livingston (later Bunny Wailer) and Wynston Hubert McIntosh (later Peter Tosh) based on the model of American vocal groups such as the Impressions. The trio was first called the Wailing Wailers, and eventually came to be called The Wailers. It is with Simmer Down, in 1964 that The Wailers will meet their first real local success in Jamaica. Many others will follow until 1968 ... Meanwhile, Bob Marley became Rasta from 1966, under the influence of important people (like Mortimo Planno) of the Rastafari movement, then booming in Jamaica.

I am a passionate Dutch portraitist who lives and works in France (Blois). I paint personalities and people who touch me, inspired by their talent and vision of life. My paintings are a tribute to these artists of all kinds, authentic, pure and, in my opinion, talented. I started with figurative Portraits. Now I am experimenting with pop art and contrasting colors. I like to work in series: Forever 27, Jazz musicians and singers, Impressionist Painters, Pop Music Stars, French singing and musical artists. I am happy to share these portraits with you and invite you to discover them here.
