ABOUT THE ARTWORK

'Brexit Played' was inspired by the Brexit 2016 decision in the EU and what it seems like from the outside in a rather synonymous move in a game of cards Viewers will hopefully be able to draw a parallel between the real-time event and the situation depicted at the game table. Watercolor was chosen as the prime medium due to it's light-weightedness, transparency and ability to blend well into the background. The subject was chosen as I allow most life issues, world issues, domestic and international, to affect me deeply and influence my art. I want my works to hold meaning and connection to the age and times we live in and in time be a sort of preservation of history. The style borders abstract expressionism, modern & fauvism and has been my most expressive, liberating style as ideas & emotions in this style flow freely without restrictions or abiding by rules of lights and shadows, very much mirroring my heart and soul, the artist & wanderer.
