About The Artwork

Bringing Hope is a painting of positivity and how great being by the sea makes you feel. It always lifts your spirits. This painting is based on the North Devon beaches that I go to regularly for walking, sketching and watching my sons surf. It's painted over 3 or 4 days, layering paint to create the desired atmosphere and texture that I want. I've also used cold wax and linseed oil to create contrasting finishes. It's on a block canvas which has painted Paynes grey edges. It's ready to hang.

I am a full time artist living in Devon. I like to explore the abstract nature of the landscape and seascape. Recently I have won Landscape Artist of the Year by Devon Life and have been long listed for the Jackson's Open Oil Painting prize. I have recently had my first London exhibition.
