About The Artwork
This painting was completed in 1987. Burnham Burnham was an activist and indigenous Australian. He passed on not long after I painted this work. I painted Burnham in his traditional possum skin cloak which was 400 years old, passed on his family line. This painting was entered into the Archibald portrait prize but was not hung. It's now in a private collection.
