Buzzard with Prey Painting

Buzzards are incredible adapters and have grown in numbers due to the abundance of road kill. These birds can have numerous colourings but I have stuck to the commonest ruddy brown/red colouring. I produced with work from sketches & photographs taken of local birds, as they are a lot more common in the UK these days they are not too hard to spot. I deliberately placed this bird in a common habitat and they are often seeing soaring high above wooded areas producing their distinctive meow calls. They were badly persecuted in the past for taking game birds yet the reality is that they take more rabbits than pheasants & to emphasise this my bird has just killed one at dawn!
