The artist intentionally divided space into the real and the reflected, thus depicting the human nature. The upper part is a conscious aspect of life (internal freedom). The lower part is the processes and states which are beyond the limits of consciousness (illusory volition). As distinct from the traditional notions, the conscious in the picture dominates over the unconscious which reflects the artist’s attitude to the human potential. Depending on the person’s state and what decision he/she is taking, the human being harvests the crop of his choice: either God’s Kingdom (three domes symbolizing Father, Son and the Holy spirit) or an unstable phantom of false expectations. The path on the water emphasizes that man has on his way to cross the border of the material world in order to gain it again.

Alexey Klokov's perception of the world of art and the trajectory of his life in it were formed due to Anatoly Zverev who carried along young Alexey into the world of avant-garde combining all the palette of genres and styles. Alexey Klokov has got professional education in 1986-1991, already after the death of his genial mentor, in a Leningrad Higher School of Art and Industry. The two-year probation in restoration workshops in Hermitage and Tretyakov Gallery became a momentous period when he was lucky to be literally in touch with the greatest masterpieces of Picasso, Matisse, Gauguin, Renoir, Van Gogh, Malevich, Kandinsky and others, learning from them "without words". Upon finishing the probation, Alexey made an unexpected choice and settled down in an orthodox monastery where during four years he learned the secrets of gilding and drawing by cognizing from inside not only the matter of iconography but also the deepest power of Divine providence embodied in the image. Since 1998 Alexey Klokov began to create his own style based on his philosophical thoughts and synthesis of impressionism, fauvism, cubism, expressionism, and abstractionism. With the experience of a restorer, he skillfully applies in his art gold leaf, antique objects, coins and gold. He had 25 personal exhibitions, worked in Japan and United Kingdom. In 2011 he came back to Russia and joined the Creative Union of Russian Artists. During his life created more than 4,000 artworks.
