This is not strictly “painting”, it is a Mixed Media piece, using; resin, photography, metallic leaf & acrylics on a plywood substrate. In physical size, this is a small piece at 5x7 inches, it sits well on the wall without a frame, it is ready to hang with the hanging fixing attached to the back. It could also be mounted in a frame, that choice would be yours, If you decide on a frame, I would recommend mounting it in a floating frame and definitely do not use glass in front of it. Ideally suited in a place where the light changes throughout the day. The metallic leaf under the resin reacts to how the light is hitting it and can change the piece dramatically, giving it real depth and energy. What I can't show in these photographs is the resin finish, it is a crystal-clear water like finish that gives the piece an almost three dimensional feel, there are ‘imperfections’ to the finish, some are encouraged and some are random, adding to the overall feel and narrative of the piece. ‘Can't take me anywhere, I'll take you anywhere’ is part of a large series of work I have been doing over the last few years and continue to do. I have set a pretty strong intention to create artwork that inspires people to connect with that part of themselves that makes them feel truly alive and magnetically present. ‘Can't take me anywhere, I'll take you anywhere’, celebrates bravery & courage, the path we walk to get to where we are. It is work that portrays our beautiful individuality, deep connected humanity & energetic bond to life, our human connection, our connection to all other life and our deep interconnectivity to the planet we live on. I hope you enjoy viewing this piece as much as I have making it. The title, ‘Can't take me anywhere, I'll take you anywhere’, comes from the lyrics in the song, Can’t Stand Me Now by the Libertines.
