I was born on 13th September 1976 in Livorno, and since a child I love painting, drawing and playing modellism. After my University of Pisa MA2 in Egyptology I started a second graduation in Digital Humanities, where computer science is applied to Humanities: these experiences enforced in me a deeper belief about importance of using computer science within artistic, linguistic, historic and literary domains. As I moved to live in Florence, In 2011 I had the chance to attend classes of MA2 degree in Ancient and Modern East language and culture curriculum at the University of Florence, with focus on Chinese language and literature. From 2005, after my travel in China, I dedicated my artistic studies into calligraphy, poetry, art of sealing and painting focusing on traditional Chinese artist like 陈容Chen Rong (1235 – 1262), 石涛 Shitao (1642 - 1707) e 八大山人 Bada Shanren (1626 - 1705) and contemporary like 关则驹 Guan Zejiu (1941 ) and in particular 刘云生 Liu Yunsheng(1950 ) and 徐惟辛 Xu Weixin(1958 ). I adopted watercolor, guache, china, graphite and color pencils as my main artistic medium for my travel notebooks, while I always preferred oil painting and pastel for wider and different approach works. I believe that my way of playing art is the result and a sum of a series of experiences, meetings and lucky incidents, as when I discovered and start studying the style of “Cape Cod School of Art” grounded by Charles Hawthorne and handed down by Lois Griffel and the others disciples. I was moreover so lucky to study the work of great artist and academic professor 徐惟辛 Xu Weixin, corresponding and meeting him in 2009 at 北京中国人民大学 Běijīng Zhōngguó Rénmín Dàxué – China People’s University of Peking. In Florence my friendship with artist Azad Nanakeli enormously influenced my vision and technique of watercolor painting, and friendship with artist Gabriele Genini (Atelier 47 Rosso) introduced me to the art of engraving and Japanese xylography. The artist and firend Stefano Faravelli is the one to whom I refer as the most important teacher for my travel painting: his workshops, seminaries and common experiences lived in Italy and France undoubtedly constitute my technical, theoretic and philosophical core for my traveling painting. Attending to various art exhibition focused on travel painting in Italy and France I was so lucky to became friend and particular empathy with genial artist Marco Pallini “Palmar”.
