About The Artwork

«Chaos in the Foyer» #mixedmedia, oil on canvas, marker clear a representation of the #dichotomy of what is considered to be clean and precise with what is quick, messy and almost careless. The outcome: capturing the idea of expressive freedom. I communicate the importance of acknowledging imperfection and error in order to see and understand what is the contrary. My ideas of polarity are communicated through the contrast of techniques i use and i hope onlookers find themselves questioning their own values as well as aesthetic standards in order to reach a greater state of acceptance and tolerance/understanding. This, is the landscape i try to reveal in hopes to generate awareness, deeper thought and contemplation.

Amsterdam based international artist A fascination for people lies at the heart of much of Kiryanova’s work. Work is layered with technique providing her portraits an intriguing mix that refers to classical portraits and the work by Lucien Freud and David Hockney. The works show the subjects as their most vulnerable and honest self.‘ intimate portraits that easily betray a loving relationship with the subject. Latest paintings are characterised by a vibrant pink glow. Abandoned figures seem to float in an abstract dream world, where time has stopped everything, but them. Making you want to dive into this lucid void, the pieces really become realities of their own. J.K. exhibited work at Amsterdam museum, Museum Op Solder, The Holocaust Museum, Europe
