"Cherries and Garlic" is a captivating still life representation, this painting depicts a plate full of cherries and a braid of garlic, arranged on a yellow table that stands out against a contrasting background of black and green. The technique used by Marcucci is characterized by bold outlines and vibrant colors, reminiscent of the Expressionism and Fauvism styles, known for their daring use of color and form. The work reflects meticulous attention to the details of the composition and the play of colors, distinctive elements of Marcucci's still lifes. Each cherry and garlic clove is rendered with precision, highlighting the artist's skill in capturing the beauty of everyday objects. The contrast between the bright red cherries and the soft white garlic, along with the brilliant yellow table, creates a dynamic and engaging visual effect. "Cherries and Garlic" is not only a visually striking piece of art but also an emblematic example of Marcucci's ability to transform simple domestic elements into vibrant and evocative compositions.

Born and raised in Italy, Giovanni Battista was immersed in an artistic environment from a young age, strongly influenced by his mother's dedication to painting. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino, where he studied with the well-known graphic designer Albe Steiner, a leading figure in Italian advertising graphics of the 1950s and 1960s. Steiner not only inspired him, but also provided crucial support to his artistic endeavors. At the beginning of the 1970s Giovanni Battista took part in a prestigious advertising graphics competition organized in Milan by the well-known Gillette brand. Although he won the competition, he made the unconventional decision to decline the offered position as a graphic designer. He considers himself among the few painters remaining in the Italian artistic panorama of modern impressionism, maintaining a unique legacy in the field of visual arts. At the end of 2023, at the age of 80, the master made an important decision, to share his works with the public.
