ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Chofu Garden is located in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It used to belong to Nishi Yukinaga, vassal of the second head of Mori clan during the Edo Period (1603-1868). The garden consists of a pond, study building, tea-house, a bower and a river. Our Lady in Red will gaze upon this lovely scene for eternity!

Mr. Clarke has concentrated on the acrylic and watercolor medium, and paints on location in his Los Angeles based studio.
