ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Abstract oil landscape painting. Suffused with the atmosphere of a warm summer's day, this artwork evokes the feeling of sitting peacefully in a dry, grassy field, edged by trees. An English landscape to bring the outside in. Bold brushstrokes have been delicately layered to create this piece. Warm, sunny colours create light, and dark areas suggest the shadows cast by the abstract trees. The blue sky above speaks of summer, with the yellow, sun dried grass of the field in the foreground, completing this depiction of an English summer's day. Painting is ready to hang. This artwork was created using Michael Harding Professional Artists oil colours, on a gesso primed mounted wooden board. The edges are painted white (please see additional photograph). This piece is signed and dated on the back and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. Artwork will be carefully wrapped and shipped within 5 working days.

Lizzie Butler is an expressive, semi abstract artist, who works in a contemporary style in oil. Her strong spatial awareness and a passion for working en plein air, inform her practice and lead to paintings that recreate the intangible atmosphere found in landscapes and the peaceful silence of nature. Most of her paintings are begun outside and completed in her London studio. Although working primarily in oil, Lizzie also enjoys the physicality of exploring etching with zinc and steel plates, to create intaglio prints.
