Feliks is a contemporary painter from northern Poland. He completed a specialist wood-carving program at his first art school in 2011. Living in the UK since 2012, he has successfully completed various programs at key academic art institutions. Feliks also participated in a year-long residency exchange program at the renowned OCAD University in Toronto. Having specialised in wood carving during his early career, painting is now the artist's principal medium. Initial preparations involve using acrylic to arrange composition and contrast, before creating the final work using oil paint. Feliks often creates his large-scale works from personal memories, as a preferred means of expression more fluent to the artist, drawing on the notion that a picture can paint a thousand words. With echoes of his interest in religious paintings, the subject of these impressive works convey universal, emotive themes, resulting in pieces that engage the viewer, whilst retaining an air of curiosity as to their origins.
