ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Conspirators deep in thought, the boss, he’s looking menacing, he’s had news and it’s not good, what to do about it, someone is going to pay and the two characters with him are hoping it's not them who is going to pay. For my conspirators I want a group of men who are always up to something, always plotting, looking for a deal. I want a desperado feel to it, moody as if they have something to hide, I want them anxious so you get those staring menacing eyes. My work is displayed in over 37 countries, including some iconic places like Berkeley Square in London’s Mayfair, 5th Ave New York, Malibu beach and Hollywood in California. To; The Bahamas, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Monaco, Monte Carlo, Peru and Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland to name a few in fact one of my best collectors is in Amsterdam which is not short of great artist or galleries, I’m very proud of that. Blanc a New York-based magazine wrote an article about me recently, it went on to say Ta has a special interest in character development and portraying “a little of the night…coming from my dreams and imagination.” This combined with her passion for colour psychology draws the viewer in and leaves them there, whether Ta is using oil on canvas, charcoal and pastels, watercolours, acrylic on wood or pencil.

Ta Byrne is a Thai artist who lives and works on the beautiful island of Koh Samui, just off the south coast of Thailand. Her Oil Paintings . are vibrant, eye-catching and packed with a sense of fun and humour. Ta takes humans as her focal point in her Figurative Painting but abstracts these figures by distorting them and using a cartoonish style to create a more humorous feel. While her work is mostly representational, she incorporates Surrealist elements in many of her paintings, making her one of the most exciting artists working in Thailand today. Ta comes from humble beginnings, living out her childhood on the rural outskirts of Bangkok as a farmer's daughter. During her teen years, she worked sewing shirts in a Bangkok sweatshop, and it was during this time that she met an old street artist who invited her to his studio. This sparked her desire to become an artist, and since then, she has gone on to produce Abstract and Cubist paintings that have received international acclaim from art connoisseurs.
