Words cannot describe my art — emotions tell a bigger story. I tell my stories through paintings inspired by nature, imagination, and music. Gestural abstraction is my chosen discipline because of the freedom I feel painting loosely, driven entirely by emotion. My intent is to evoke curiosity from every sense — joy, peace, serenity, and on occasion, something darker. My watercolor and gouache paintings are built through a minimalist approach using a special scraping technique on dry paper. I use water, brush, palette knife, and air to move paint across the surface, achieving incredible depth through texture and color. Every piece is titled after a song — music and art are inseparable for me. I also created a now-complete body of work on wood panels using colored stains applied directly with my hands. I am among a very small number of artists to have worked in this technique, producing luminous, one-of-a-kind results that cannot be replicated. These original pieces are available to collectors. I am self-taught, with continuing education in drawing and watercolor, and have exhibited and been recognized nationally and internationally throughout my career.
