Contemporary view of the Cornish countryside. Across the estuary. This tranquil hill slopes gently down to Restronguet Creek. The soft blue sky above, the distant fields and sweeping land all contribute to this peaceful oil painting. Pale bluey green hills in the background, green and ochre land in the midground. The eye is lead gently forward by the zigzagging flow of grasslands. All painted in expressive and textured oil paint, on fine stretched linen. Please note: in certain lights (see last photgraph), the gestural brushstrokes of the sky are visable (with the light falling on the artwork, these show quite dramatically, and move as you walk past the painting), capturing the movement of the passing clouds. Ready to hang. Painted in Michael Harding Professional Artists oil colours on a stretched, Italian linen canvas. It is signed and dated on the back and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. This painting will be carefully wrapped for shipping in a layer of tissue paper, recycled bubble wrap, foam board and a sturdy cardboard box.

Lizzie Butler is an expressive, semi abstract artist, who works in a contemporary style in oil. Her strong spatial awareness and a passion for working en plein air, inform her practice and lead to paintings that recreate the intangible atmosphere found in landscapes and the peaceful silence of nature. Most of her paintings are begun outside and completed in her London studio. Although working primarily in oil, Lizzie also enjoys the physicality of exploring etching with zinc and steel plates, to create intaglio prints. Lizzie Butler's artwork has been exhibited at Leighton House Museum, Kensington, London, The Russell Gallery, London, and several other Galleries. Lizzie's paintings can be found in collections in America, New Zealand, the UK and across Europe, with several customers returning to buy further paintings and place commissions.
