The flower of life is a symbol of humanity found across cultures and time. Repeating rings of circles, creating more circles at their points of interaction, reminding of birth and cellular growth, pattern and perfection. This work is a part of a series investigating our economic system. Looking to the laws of nature for inspiration, the most important and guiding principles regarding the flow of resources, should be balance and symmetry. Universal laws most clearly stated in geometry.

Psychedelic Artist There is this space inside, that we visit in dreams, visions, and deep meditations, that is the most truthful and satisfying part of our experience of self. It's like touching our soul, our own wildness, our connection to the divine. Though that world feels in-between, surreal, dreamlike, I believe it is the larger reality. I believe that our day-to-day perception is limited by our brain’s adeptness at logic and routine pattern learning. We learn to function in the environment through our selective perception of what is there. Our world simplified and de-complexified for increased efficiency. Most of the time our connection to that larger mystical space is fleeting, an ethereal memory just beyond our grasp. But those moments we are able to connect to it are powerful and can resonate through our regular life like an earthquake, restructuring our perceptions here. Inspiring transformational change. My work is about that mystical space. I am fascinated and inspired by it. I believe it is the answer to much of what we are searching for, that answer to that vague sensation that our lives are not full enough, that we aren’t living our correct path, or that something just isn’t right. I am trying to access it and illustrate it, to bring a picture of it back into this world. The artwork like a photograph, there to inspire my memory when I forget. I want that mystic space to be present in my everyday life. I don’t want to forget. I explore psychedelic and visionary states with plant medicine, fasting, ritual, ceremony and trance. Those experiences are the inspiration of my artwork. I paint from memory of experiences, as well as during altered or enhanced states. I work intuitively (paint without planning what the painting will be), and allow the piece to form organically. I use elements of colour, shape, and movement to evolve and express the vibrant-dreamlike-surreal experiences. I see my work as experiments in communication and I am working with the idea that maybe I can create pieces that can help a person be transported into the expanded state of being, where when your in it, you are surrounded by the peace and calm of knowing that nothing else matters but being alive.
