Ricardo dos Santos is a Portuguese artist born in 1983. With a wide range of influences, his work blends various aesthetics that pushes some boundaries to more sensitive eyes. His art is deeply rooted in his personal life always with a heavy touch. “Life Has Strange Events” the reason for the sentence in Ricardo life is the reference to the unexpected, unpredictable, or surreal experiences that life brings our way. It highlights how life can take unexpected turns, presenting situations or events that we don't foresee or fully understand. These moments often challenge our perception of reality, leading to personal growth, reflection, or a shift in perspective. The phrase suggests that life is full of surprises, both good and bad, that shape who we are in ways we can't always anticipate “…just live life, you will die... you know?”. Ricardo transforms his experiences and emotions into visual language, in a diary so to speak, creating works that are spread a little everywhere across Europe and USA. While canvas is his primary medium, Ricardo is constantly experimenting. He explores new techniques and materials, always seeking innovative ways to express his vision. Since 2019, he has focused on a series of works dedicated to personal growth, expelling the ghosts from his deepest core. Currently, his art studio is based in Braga, Portugal. If you'd like to visit the studio or get in touch with Ricardo, feel free to drop him an email! Make him talk to you.
