David Robert Jones aka David Bowie is an English singer-songwriter and actor (1947 - 2016). After a debut between folk and variety in the second half of the 1960s and a detour through mime, Bowie became known to the public with the song Space Oddity (1969). He achieved fame by playing the flamboyant character of Ziggy Stardust, who became one of the leading figures of the glam rock movement with the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (1972), on which he was supported by guitarist Mick Ronson. Bowie then turned his attention to black music (R'n'B, soul and funk), earning his first No. 1 in the United States with the song Fame (1975). He then moved to West Berlin to work with Brian Eno on electronic music. Between 1977 and 1979 he produced his "Berlin trilogy" (Low, "Heroes" and Lodger), considered one of his artistic summits.
