ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I am obsessed with paper and the texture of materials. After coffee staining Chemex filters I soaked them and hung them to dry in the sun. I noticed they had a lovely coffee patina in a circular shape in the center that was begging me to paint a face. I created 25 of them in the 2019 series "Filter Faces". They feature bright colors and touches of gold leaf. When you see this in your space remember that even in the darkest times, a new day will always dawn. Never give up. These are great paired together in sets of 2-4. Special framing is also recommended to bring out the colors and make it fit in your space. Framing can go from minimal to ornate. When you get these framed it is advised to put them behind UV glass and keep them out of the direct sun.
