Delft Blue Smoke Painting

When I was in a paint-masterclass, I studied the way the Old Masters (like Rembrandt) painted. But at a certain point I just wanted tot turn my work around to see the other side. That's when I started working with clay. But the feeling of painting something that's in your mind, didn't go away. I started experimenting painting with (under) glaze on tiles and loved it ever since. For this piece I've dripped Delfts Blue glaze on a smoking guy.. and the result is a surreal blue smoke.. or is is water... or... I love the combination of black and the natural tile colour (some what off-white) and the destinct colour of Delfts Blue.
