ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I went to tour a grand and swarming garden Of towering green hedgerows, and sundry ornate florets. In the heart of the garden, was a stone enclosure, Surrounding an ancient jade pond. The surface was garnished with lush water lilies, The rocks at the edge were mossed grown, A cascade allowing the crests to flow, To my kneeling self at the foaming edge. Upon my admiration, a lone koi tinted like a warm flame swam to the top; It gracefully pushed the lilies aside, As it floated and glided to my spirit's delight. Then it speckled a glacial plash to my blest smirk. It then melancholily quit its balletic frolic, Pensively in thought and fathomless reflection. With one final swing and twist — it returned 'neath the jade pond, Then all-round the garden, the world fell soundless and calm.
