Distant hills in yellow and green Painting

My artwork encompasses elements of impressionism, expressionism and abstract influences and sometimes seeks to blend them together. I work almost exclusively with oil paint on box canvas, board or canvas paper. Throughout my work there are elements of storytelling as I seek to interpret and draw inspiration from my local landscapes and places I have visited. The spark needed to create my paintings can come from anywhere, so my portfolio is quite varied. The layering of oil paint is a key aspect of my work, where I manipulate and fuse the paints while wet. As the painting evolves, I adapt the colours, composition and brushstrokes until the desired outcome is reached.
