Oil and cold wax painting on a cradled panel, this small work is part of a series exploring transitions and shifting boundaries. The artist thinks of these studies as painted haiku. "And then there is life – messy and wonderful: all of it a constant whirl of change and adjustment. Sometimes life is so fluid, we’re left feeling we’re playing tag with an impression. I guess in a sense we are since now is always what just past."

The viewer is teased by a sense of the familiar and responds to an emotional nuance, always present in the base notes. Recently she has embraced an additional medium. Using image captures of her garden and the natural world close at hand she has begun to compose eco-portraits. This developing series shows a world undressed, yet not unadorned and invites the viewer to into an intimate relationship with the world underfoot.
