Do you "sea" what I "sea" Painting

UPDATE: THIS PIECE HAS BEEN SOLD AS A PART OF SILENT AUCTION FOR CHARITY FUNDRAISER This piece is inspired by all the sights and sounds surrounding beautiful the beautiful Californian coast! I took this photo when we were in Santa Cruz and what struck me in particular about this scenes is that even though there seems to be a frenzy of activity with the water and the birds, it evokes a sense of calm - it seems like there are five layers of calm to be precise, starting with the sky and ending with the ripples in the water below. There is a purposeful use of texture in this piece - it renders layers of ebbs and flows and adds another dimension to the various sections in the scene. This is an oil painting done with high quality paints and varnished with matte finish (unframed to allow user to use own discretion to add value with appropriate lighting and frame of choice). My intention in further doing this piece was to challenge myself to tackle the difficult task of painting water - my favorite artists specializing in seascapes/marine art are: Ivan Aivazovsky J.M.W. Turner Montague Dawson This piece is my humble tribute to their expertise.
