Art Description

Painting: Oil, Wood on Wood.

Double Edged Cloud is part of a series where the artist takes a playful return to clouds as one of her early fascinations combined with her current style of linear divisions between organic forms. The fantastical colours of the clouds are a form of escapism from the everyday constraints of reality, interspersed between mountains hand burned into the wood, and also an acknowledgement of the Chinese myths of mountains so high they reach the heavens.

Pyrography is the art of burning with heat on wood. The imagery has been drawn entirely by hand.
