From my series ceramic ducks based on ones given to me by the Parisian mother of an old roommate. I use patterns in these still lifes to help the flow of my compositions much the same way Cezanne and Matisse did, artists whom I admire. I observe my subjects directly, in the north light of my studio by Boston Harbor. Randi Hopkins, curator at the Boston's Institute of Contemporary Art has called O'Connor " a masterful painter of things we love, like candy".
