ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Original oil on canvas landscape painting stretched on a wooden frame. Every year I make an attempt to paint magnolia bloom. It is the first painting on a Plein air this year. The weather did not cooperate, it was very windy. Impasto. The master-quality material has been used. Using large brushes and pallet knives allows for achieving a very interesting effect of simplicity, lightness, and air. Edges of the painting are covered with archival white linen tape for a clean contemporary look. No need for framing. It is ready to hang. Signed on the back. A Certificate of Authenticity is included.

" In general, my paintings are skirting the boundary line between representation and pure abstraction. Color, form, gesture, and physicality of paint - all of them are the subjects of main interest and great importance. Almost all paintings have been inspired by the landscape. Behind every abstract composition is a particular place in a particular time and in a specific atmospheric condition."
