ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Returning again to this perfect composition, finding how to paint the spoon in different ways, using different base colours. This painting had a base of Quinadrone Rose mixed with orange and white. It was then glazed over softy with a mix of Burnt Umber, Ultramarine Blue and Mixing White. A pale peachy highlight was made with Titanium white, Naples Yellow and Cadium Orange. After building up layers, the final darkest tones were added to give the glinting sharpness to the spoon and a lovely soft fall away in the shadow.
